Supporting the Mental Wellness of Police Officers

challenge banner

Police officers are prone to increased levels of physiological and psychological strain as policing often involves a certain amount of unpredictability. Prolonged exposure to stress can negatively impact the mental and physical health of police officers. The RCMP is leading a research project to enhance psychological support services for members who work in covert operations. In support of this, an Impact Canada Fellow is working to leverage behavioural insights to determine the impact of the roles and responsibilities placed on employees who work within covert operational units, in an effort to improve/support their mental wellness.
